Are you planning a Halloween Party at school? Maybe you are looking for ideas for a school Halloween party. Are you having trouble coming up with a theme for your party? If this is you, you have stopped at the right place! Today I am sharing some of my monster themed ideas with you. My hope is that you will find some inspiration to create your very own Monster Bash just in time for Halloween!
Hello dear friends! Happy October to you! As a former kindergarten teacher, Halloween easily became one of my favorite times of the year. During this season, there are so many fun activities to do and creative ideas for planning a school Halloween party. I am so excited to share with you some monster themed ideas that are guaranteed to be a hit with the kids in your school this Halloween.
On a personal note, I have never liked to incorporate spooky or scary characters into my Halloween themed lesson plans! I naturally gravitated towards using a pumpkin theme and threw in a few cutesy, kid friendly Halloween themed books here and there.
This changed several years back when one of my co-workers introduced me to the book, Go Away Big Green Monster. This book made it to the top of my favorites list and was an instant hit with my students as well! From that day forward, I knew a monster theme was just the thing to incorporate into my classroom at Halloween. I mean, what better way to celebrate a school Halloween party, than to throw a Monster Bash?
A Monster Bash Calls for Monster Books
The days leading up to our classroom Monster Bash, I would prepare the children for our monster themed school Halloween party by reading all of the monster books in my collection! Here are several of my favorites!
Monster Themed Halloween Party Snacks
As you are planning a party you want to come up with snack ideas to go along with your theme! I want to share with you some monster themed snack ideas that you can incorporate at your school Halloween party!
Making Monster Munch
Making Monster Munch is one of my favorite snacks to make for a Halloween Monster Bash! In order to be ready for the Halloween party, I purchase and prepare all of the ingredients needed in advance to make Monster Munch. I prepare each ingredient by taking the contents out of their original boxes and bags and pour each one into a separate gallon size Ziploc bag or Rubbermaid container.
Next, I attach the Monster Munch labels on each bag or container. The day of the party I allow the students to help me mix all of the ingredients to create our very own Monster Munch! Here is a printable copy of the directions along with the ingredients so that you can make your own Monster Munch.
I have also included a song/chant you can you can sing while making Monster Munch in your classroom! The children love to participate in creating this sweet and salty Halloween snack and get a kick out of all the silly monster things that go into making this Halloween party treat.
A Monster Doughnut Idea for a Halloween Party
I am always looking for ways to include the children and give them the opportunity to engage and have a hands on experience when possible. To go along with the Monster Munch, I purchase an original glazed Krispy Kreme Doughnut for every child in the class. The children love being able to decorate their doughnut like a monster.
I have placed orders in advance with Krispy Kreme for many events and I am always pleased by their quality and customer service! Krispy Kreme also offers Halloween sprinkles that are available during the month of October. These sprinkles can be added to the doughnuts to tie in Halloween colors with party decorations. Krispy Kreme also specializes in creating their own specialty Halloween doughnuts that can be ordered for a party. Be sure to check out their website here.
Creating a Monster Doughnut
In order to create a Monster Doughnut for your classroom Halloween party, simply add these vampire teeth to the center of the doughnut. By using a few dots of icing you can attach these edible eyeballs. What a thrilling Halloween treat! These doughnuts paired with Monster Munch will make the perfect snack at your Monster Bash!
